The Craft

Remember the movie The Craft with Fairuza Balk and Neve Campbell? Well this outfit is totally inspired by the scene where they’re all summoning Mano on the beach! Classic 90s and with the return of the maxi skirt, rocking witchy vibes is totally a thing again. If you want to take it in a different direction, wear a head scarf (Keiko Lynn has a sweet head scarf tutorial here) for more boheme/gypsy appeal.

My So Called Life

If you grew up in the 90s, you were definitely watching My So Called Life and you know this outfit is totally inspired by  Rayanne Graff‘s personal style (minus the plaid flannel shirt tied at the waist.) Also, tie dye seems to have made a return this summer and large pendant jewelry is always cool. So to properly counteract with the adorable elephant bag, we paired this ensemble with shearling suede military boots by All Saints.

Jitney Chic

Your bags are back and you’re ready to flee the city. Hop on the Hampton Jitney and in a little over 2 hours, you will be beach side and ready to kick back. For the ride, pull an Alexa Chung and wear a comfortable soft cotton dress with a pair of Superga Sneakers.

New Heights

Boy is it hot out! A loosely fit blouse and pair of silk shorts are pretty much necessary items for surviving another NYC summer.

But lets take a second and indulge in Alexander Wang shall we? His Petra Braided Heels are practically a work of art and would give any outfit pizazz. Also, we hear these 5″ heels are not impossible to walk in, comfortable even. WIN.

Something New

Have a loosely fitted dress that you want to give an upgrade? Simply cinch it at the waist with an over size belt and voila! a new dress.

Ready wear and wedding designer Lela Rose recently did a shoe collection for payless and we couldn’t help but notice how perfectly these shoes go with this outfit!
